Team GB CAN / Massachusetts
9th Annual NAMI Walk
Saturday May 12, 2012
Now is the time to help raise awareness by joining our team and making a donation which will help sustain our organization throughout 2012 and beyond. This year's exciting NAMI WALK in Massachusetts will be held at Artesani Park Brighton, MA. The Walk is 3 Miles (5K) making for a nice loop around the Charles River. Come and join us on May 12th. Check-in is at 9 AM, and the Walk start time is 11 AM.
We look forward to continue providing support groups to peers and advocating for change with activities including Legislative Forums and Lobby Days with our Coalition Partners. Our goal is to continue our outreach to the homeless, to veterans, college students and to help restore hope to all people coping with mental health conditions.
Donate today by visiting
our NAMI WALKS Team Page hosted by our Captain Howard Trachtman and Team GB CAN. You can then click on one of the walker's names and it forwards you to the area to make an online donation with a credit card or debit card. You can also type in a message to the walker. It is safe and easy. You will receive an email to your inbox detailing your donation that can serve as record of your tax deductible donation. Call our office for more info (617) 626-8694. Thank you for your support this year!

In Our Own Voice - IOOV
In Our Own Voice is a free presentation given by two
people living with mental illness about their journey with their diseases. The
hour-long talk is appropriate for family members, friends, professionals, lay
audiences and other people living with mental illness. It includes a videotape,
personal testimony, discussion and enriches the audience’s understanding of how
people with these serious disorders cope with reality of their illnesses while
recovering and reclaiming productive lives.
Two trained speakers do the presentations
together. Participants receive a stipend for the
presentations. IOOV presentations are
given to consumer groups, students, law enforcement officials, educators,
providers, faith community members, politicians, professionals, inmates, and
interested civic groups. All presentations are offered free of charge
